Ailee's Tips for Making Good Charcuterie Boards

Tips for Making a Good-Looking Board:

  1. Don't be afraid to fill it in. Make sure your corners are filled with berries, nuts, and olives. If you can see the board, try to fill it in!

  2. Include a variety of items. Make sure you have something for everyone!

  3. Create a colorful board. Try not to have too many items of the same color. Also, you can add a pop of color with things like strawberries, olives, or orange slices.

  4. Use crackers to make divisive "rivers". This is my favorite method for keeping things like pretzels and blueberries in place.

  5. Cut interesting shapes with your fruit. Making a zig-zag pattern on fruit is so easy! Simply take a paring knife and carefully point the blade upwards and slightly tilted right, then jab it into the side of the fruit that you want to cut. Next, remove the blade from the fruit, flip the blade downwards and to the right, and jab it into the fruit again to create an upside down V shape. Repeat around the fruit until you reach the starting point and separate the two halves!
